Zinnias

The prep artists practiced their painting and collage skills to create these bright and cheerful mixed media Zinnia artworks. Our inspiration for their piece was the artist, Clementine Hunter. Zinnia flowers are white, yellow, orange, red, purple or lilac. The prep artists focused on creating warm coloured Zinnias flowers.  Clementine Hunter's Zinnias artwork

Wildflowers

The 2016 Preps are such super star artists! After only 2 lessons in the Art Room they have quickly learned the Norms and understand how to work safely and responsibly in the Art Room. They are growing in confidence with putting on their art smocks all by themselves, washing their hands and even helping with the cleaning up at the end of the lesson - keep up the great work Preps! The Preps worked very hard this week creating their first primary school masterpiece.... a Wildflower artwork . The Preps enjoyed learning about the artist, Yvonne Coomber and her beautiful Wildflower paintings. As a class we shared our thoughts, observations and feelings about Yvonne's artworks. Some popular descriptive words included; fun, crazy, happy, colours, messy, party!  To create our own Yvonne Coomber inspired Wildflower artworks, we used the soft chalk pastels for the yellow sun, blue sky and green grass, next we used a small/ skinny paintbrush to paint the blades of grass and flower ste...
