Monet Bridge & Waterlilies

The very talented Foundation artists created these beautiful artworks. The students enjoyed learning about the famous French artist, Claude Monet. They looked at some of his well known paintings, focusing mostly on his Waterlilies and Japanese Bridge painting. The students were very surprised to learn that Monet was half blind when he painted it! The students discussed what sort of course appear in their own backyards at home.

To create these masterpieces the students carefully used their pointer fingers to dab onto the page; blue, green, white, pink and purple paint; similar to the colours that Monet used in his paintings. They blended and mixed tougher the paint on the page to create new shades. The final step was drawing on the bridge using brown oil pastels.
