Mixed Media Zebras

After the Prep students returned to Art class a week after they went on their zoo excursion - we discussed the patterns, colours, shapes and textures of their favourite zoo animals. A favourite was the zebra! The students learned how to draw from observing different pictures of zebras - they were reminded to look at the main lines of the zebras. Their zebra drawings were cut out and stuck onto a warm coloured sunset background which was created the week before by using the blending technique of yellow, orange and red paint. The artwork was complete with a black oil pastel boarder and some pieces of grass.

We hope you like our zebras hiding in the grass at sunset!
