Mixed Media Dragonflies - Years 1 & 2
The Year 1 and 2 students have been learning about Performance Art. They learnt about the artwork of the artist, Jackson Pollock and his famous 'action painting' technique. The students used either marbling or a comb/ brush to create a textured background. Each student designed their own dragonfly, using air dry clay for the body, material for the wings and markers for the legs and details.
No two dragonflies are alike - we loved having a gallery walk at the end of the lesson to see what kind of dragonfly our classmates had created. From the photos below, it looks like some of these dragonflies are flying off the page!
