Cherry Blossom Trees

Image
The Prep artists created these mixed media cherry blossom trees using a variety of techniques including collage, painting and printing. We spoke about how to use recycled items to create artwork. We used recycled pages of an old Encyclopaedia book for the collage background and the base of a  lemonade bottle to produce the flower prints. We also made our own pink paint using red and white!

Folk Art Landscapes

The Year 3 students created these watercolour landscape paintings after seeking inspiration from folk artists, Heather Galler and Karla Gerard.

Value Ice Creams

Image
The Year 1 and 2 artists created these delicious looking ice cream cones! The students enjoyed learning about value and how to make tints and shades of a colour. Can you guess what we used for the sprinkles?!?! (clue - you might have this with a curry! It's rice)

Van Gogh Sunflowers

Image
The Preps have enjoyed learning about Van Gogh's famous sunflower artworks. They created their own mixed media sunflower artworks using collage techniques for the pot/ vase and watercolour painting for the flowers. We love how different all of our sunflowers look!

Tjanpi Desert Weavers

Image
The Year 4 students created these mythical creatures during Art class over the term.  The students were inspired by the Tjanpi Desert Weavers who area group of women in a remote Indigenous community who create fibre artworks and sell them to make an income.  The students used newspaper, foil, wire and wool to create their Tjanpi inspired creatures. Here are a couple of photos of some of our creations.... Visit the Tjanpi Desert Weavers website to see more of the women incredible fibre artworks.....  https://tjanpi.com.au
